Joab and Emily married in 1998.
Moved to China in 2007.
Have four kids - Miriam 10, Asa 7, Salome 3 and Silas 1.

We are thankful for a full life that includes raising kids in a global world. Joab works for an American technology company and Emily does a little bit of everything- including zooming around with kids on her electric bike in a city of 21 million people.

Time for a Fresh Start

This summer in Iowa- Miriam catching bubbles


I can still remember the day almost five years ago I came up with the name:
Global Meyer Minutes for our blog.
Global= oh my! We are moving our whole lives to Beijing China!
Meyer=I married a great Man named Joab Meyer
Minutes=really not thinking that we would stay in China this long! But again, God's plans are bigger and better!
So on to bigger and better things= Five Meyers
No global, no minutes. Here we are-all five of us- starting our fourth year in China. Let the good times roll.

    Happy to join the adventure with the fivemeyers.blogspot.com. I have had so much joy reading blogs from my friends in China. It makes it all seem real and that I really did live there as you all remind me of the wonderful life in Shanghai.
