Six Meyers

Six Meyers

Joab and Emily married in 1998.
Moved to China in 2007.
Have four kids - Miriam 10, Asa 7, Salome 3 and Silas 1.

We are thankful for a full life that includes raising kids in a global world. Joab works for an American technology company and Emily does a little bit of everything- including zooming around with kids on her electric bike in a city of 21 million people.

Christmas in January

We were glad to host 12 of Miriam's classmates and a neighbor girl in our home for a belated Christmas party on Sunday (January 20, 2013).  We had to re-schedule our original party as illness struck the Meyer household for three weeks following Christmas.

Sleeping Silas: We tried to get Silas to nap in the other room, but he wouldn't sleep
until we put his chair in the middle of the party room!

Christmas Cookies: It was interesting to see how the local kids "docorated" their cookies
- heavy on raisins and nuts, but no frosting.

Gifts: One of the best parts about throwing a party in China is seeing all of the different gifts that your guests bring.  Here are the kids with the table full of toys and snacks that were given.
