Six Meyers

Six Meyers

Joab and Emily married in 1998.
Moved to China in 2007.
Have four kids - Miriam 10, Asa 7, Salome 3 and Silas 1.

We are thankful for a full life that includes raising kids in a global world. Joab works for an American technology company and Emily does a little bit of everything- including zooming around with kids on her electric bike in a city of 21 million people.

Welcome Silas Carl John Meyer!

We are proud to annouce that Silas Carl John was born at 11:47 pm on Oct 18 weighing 7.5 lb and measuring 19.8 inches long!

Below is a bit of background on this little boy's three names:

Silas- was a man in the Bible who was a leader and a servant in the early church. Our prayer is that our Silas would be a man who walks closely with God loves others deeply from the heart.

One our favorite songs that also talks about the story of Paul and Silas in the Bible can be found here

More about Silas in the Bible can be found here

Carl-is Emily’s Dad. Carl is known as Papa to our kids. We hope Silas can have Papa’s same love for his family, love of learning and sense of humor.

John- John was Joab’s Paternal Grandfather and in Hebrew means graced by God. Indeed what a gift to have a new baby son! What an amazing gift!

Below are some pictures of the family welcoming Silas

Miriam's wide smile and tears of joy greeted us at the door upon returning home this afternoon

Over a year ago Asa began praying for a baby brother.
What a joy to see the first meeting of the Meyer Brothers!

  6. Congrats! We like our four kids! A little crazy, but fun. Just think, our oldest (Henry) was turning 5 the month our youngest (Naomi) was born. Great to read on all your adventures. Jason Hedstrand
